Role Overview
We're looking for a full-time video editor to join our growing remote team. This is a long-term position for an experienced editor who loves storytelling, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow within a professional post-production team.
As a Video Editor at Wanderlust Videos, you will be responsible for editing cinematic-style wedding films, including color correction and sound adjustments, based on client specifications and company guidelines. You'll collaborate with our quality assurance team to maintain high quality standards, meet project deadlines, and deliver a seamless post-production experience for our filmmaker clients.
This is a contract full-time remote (work from home) position requiring approximately 40 hours per week. Fixed monthly payments and paid time off. 4-5 hours of availability (working overlap) with US Central Time is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and organizing large volumes of wedding footage
- Selecting the strongest and most meaningful footage
- Creating compelling stories from ceremony footage, speeches, vows, interviews, and candid moments
- Editing cinematic wedding highlights and longer-form films
- Working with multi-camera footage
- Performing color correction and grading
- Editing and mixing dialogue, music, ambient audio, and other sound elements
- Following project briefs, client preferences, reference films, and Wanderlust Videos editing standards
- Preparing completed edits for quality assurance review
- Making revisions based on QA and client feedback
- Managing multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines
- Keeping project files and timelines organized according to our workflow
- Communicating with Project Managers and QA team members when clarification or assistance is needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years of professional video editing experience.
- Advanced proficiency required in at least 2 editing software: Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and creative briefs.
- Ability to work with large amounts of 4K video footage.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to process and apply feedback effectively.
